The Census Bureau and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) are requesng your cooperaon with
preparing for the 2025 Health Insurance Cost Study, the Insurance Component of the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey
(MEPS-IC). In June, you will receive information on how to access the 2025 Health Insurance Cost Study.

number is 0935-0110 and appears at the upper right of the survey form/login screen. Without this approval, we could
not conduct this survey.
Authority and Confidenality
Title 13 U.S.C. Section 9(b) states “The confidential treatment of data for particular individuals and establishments, shall
not apply to the censuses of governments provided for by subchapter III of chapter 5 of this tle with respect to any
information obtained therefore that is compiled from, or customarily provided in, public records.” As such, the
protecons described in the following paragraph do not apply to informaon obtained from governments that is
otherwise publicly available.
We are conducting this study under the authority of Section 913 of the Public Health Service Act (Title 42, United States
Code (U.S.C.), Section 299b-2). Sections 924c and 308d of that Act (42 U.S.C. Section 299c-3(c) and 42 U.S.C. Secon
242m, respectively) ensure the confidentiality of your responses will be maintained. It may be seen only by individuals
sworn to uphold U.S. Census Bureau confidentiality and may be used only for statistical purposes.
Burden Esmate Statement
We estimate this pre-canvass will take 3-5 minutes, on average, to complete.
