The National Agricultural Statistics
Service (NASS) is requesting a substantive change to the
Agricultural Surveys Program information collection request (OMB
No. 0535-0213) to increase the sample size for the Crop Acreage and
Grain Stocks (Quarterly Agricultural Surveys), reinstate the
Agricultural Coverage Evaluation Survey (ACES), and update the June
Area Survey questionnaire to be fully compliant with Statistical
Policy directive No. 15: Standards for Maintaining, Collecting, and
Presenting Federal Data on Race and Ethnicity (SPD-15). The changes
in this request increase burden hours.

The burden changes result from
the proposed changes to the June 2025 Area Survey and the
reinstatement of the ACES. The Quarterly Agricultural Surveys had a
significant increase in sample size to preserve coverage and
maintain the reliability of key commodity estimates.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
